Tither's Rights
To tithe or not to tithe; that is NOT the question. God has told us to tithe. Tithing is still required because it was before, during and after the law, but that is not actually the point of this post. What I want to discuss with you today is that tithers have rights. Those who do not tithe are living below their rights.
God initiated tithing so we would not have to try to make it on our own. As tithers, God blesses us supernaturally. When we tithe, we get breakthroughs and supernatural assistance.
Through my many years of loving and serving Jesus and tithing, He has blessed me with a good wife, many houses, and every need met. From fixing our vehicles to saving money on college tuition to giving me favor on the job, I have been blessed.
People will use the excuse, "Well, I can't afford to tithe." My answer is simple: "You can't afford NOT to tithe."
The Bible says God gives seed to the sower. The tithe is defined as a tenth of your gross income; the first fruits.
Malachi 3:10-12 (KJV):
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.
In verse 10, God feeds us supernaturally and opens the windows of heaven to pour out more blessings than we can contain. We receive back much more than we have given to Him. Every need is abundantly met with plenty left over. Tithing puts us in the overflow, giving us plenty to advance the Gospel.
In verse 11, God promises to rebuke the devourer. The word devourer actually means "seed eater." The devil is rebuked and there will be no more stealing of the seed; no more delays or setbacks. What you do will produce abundantly. The more you tithe and give, the more God has promised to give to you and increase you. The field you work will produce 100 fold. You will be fruitful and your time will not be wasted. In this verse, God is speaking as the Lord of Hosts, or the Leader of the armies of heaven. If you are a tither, God will fight your battles, rebuking the devourer (both spiritual and natural enemies).
In verse 12, people will see you blessed and will call you blessed. That beats being called broke, busted, and disgusted any day! You see, the blessing is God's supernatural power working for you all the time, so you really cannot afford not to be a tither. When we don't tithe, we not only rob God, but we end up robbing ourselves.
So, obey God, be a tither, and watch the blessings pour out. It's wonderful to walk in the rights and privileges of the tither. As a tither, you have the God-given right to be blessed.
