Reveal and Fulfill

Reveal and Fulfill

What God reveals, He fulfills.

In Luke 1:26-38, God sent Gabriel, the messenger angel, to deliver a message to Mary, telling her that the Messiah would be born of her. Upon hearing this, she asked him how it could be, since she was a virgin.

In the same way, we can’t figure things out when God gives us a promise- because He never told us to try to figure it out. God is setting us up, getting us in position to hear, believe, and receive His Word. What He promises, He sets out to fulfill. He simply wants us to cooperate with Him, taking Him at His Word, believe, and do as He instructs- and He will do the rest.

On her own, Mary couldn’t bring the promise to pass, and that is also true for us. We must say, “Lord, regardless of what I feel or don’t feel, see or don’t see, experience or don’t experience, I will take You at Your Word. Be it unto me according to Your Word.” Now, we’ve given God something to work with- faith in His Word.

What God had revealed to Mary, He fulfilled:

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7 (KJV)

God has great promises for us. As we take God at His Word, we will see Him fulfill His Word in our lives.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)

Keep listening to the Lord by getting in the Word. Then, receive His Word for yourself and your life. Hold onto that Word, and watch Him do it. Truly, what God reveals to us, He surely does fulfill.
