Absolute Truth: Here to Stay
I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Isaiah 43:12-13 (New International Version, NIV)
When God speaks a thing, it is irrevocable. When He releases His Word into the earth, it cannot be removed or reversed. If God were to go back on what He has said, He would be going back on Himself, because God and His Word are One.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (NIV)
If the Word actually is God, then the Word has to be true, since God cannot lie. There is no deceit in Him.
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19 (NIV)
Jesus Himself said that He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the Word made flesh, therefore the Word is the way, truth and life. This means the Word cannot lie. If God were to go back on His Word, it would mean that He ceased being Who has always been- absolute truth.
There is nothing we can rely on more than God’s Word; not circumstances, how we feel, or any other thing. God and His Word are absolute, 100% truth. If the economy opposes what the Word says, then the economy is the liar. If symptoms contradict the Word, then the symptoms are wrong. God and His Word are the ultimate authority in all things. He cannot lie. He does not lie. He will not lie. Period. What He has said cannot be undone or reversed. His Word will never die or change- it is eternal, because He is eternal and unending.
The grass withers, the flower fades; nothing lasts except the word of our God. It will stand forever. Isaiah 40:8 (The Voice, VOICE)
We can trust God’s Word entirely. Even more than that, we can stake our very lives on it. If there is anything anywhere that you choose to believe, let it be the Word of God. It is here to stay.
