Put Your Whole Heart Into It
To be good at anything, we must put our hearts into it. We do our best when we give it our all. When we are half-hearted at something, we cannot excel. Champions put their whole heart into an endeavor.
To learn to be skillful and proficient at something, whether it is work, school, sports, playing an instrument, or being Christlike, we must be faithfully diligent day in and day out. Children of God, we are in training, and we want to finish the race well.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
This verse tells us that whatever we do, we must do it from our hearts and do it heartily. When we really love something, our whole hearts are in it; it’s our passion- we do it because we want to, not out of obligation.
Set a goal for each area of your life and put your heart into it. Keep taking steps until the goal is met. Difficulties will come, but if your heart is in it, you will be determined to see it through. Let your love of God fuel your desire to pursue your dreams and finish your race. With diligence and dedication you will attain your dream.
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. Ecclesiastes 5:18 (KJV)
Put your heart into what you do; do it unto the Lord, and enjoy the results.
