Receive God's Grace
We’ve heard the term grace used a lot in Christian circles, but do we understand what it is and the role it plays in our lives?
Grace can be defined as empowerment, umerited or undeserved favor, God doing for us what we cannot do ourselves. God has graced us. In other words, He has given us His ability. He has graced us to do a number of things, including the following.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
He has graced us to be saved. The grace of God saved us because we sure couldn’t save ourselves. It is only through what He has done that we are saved.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
He has graced us to allow Christ to live His life through us. Christ means the Anointed One and His anointing. The Anointed One lives in and through us as we surrender our will to God’s will.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
He has graced us to think right. We can think like Christ, the Anointed One and His anointing. The anointing to think, remember, create, imagine, and solve problems has been given to us through grace. God gives us concepts and ideas.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)
He has graced us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 10:29 refers to Him as the Spirit of Grace. Just as we ask Jesus to be our Savior and Lord, we can ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and continue to refill us. This makes us full and overflowing with God, with the only room in our hearts being for Him. It enables us to live a supernatural life and to walk in the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:8-11).
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. II Peter 1:3 (KJV)
The last thing I want to mention is that God has graced us to be, do, and have all that He wants us to. Truly, God’s grace has provided all we need. All we have to do is receive it- over and over again.
