Our Lemonade God
Lately, I’ve had a craving for all things lemon- lemon pie, cakes, cookies, and so on. And I’m reminded of the old saying, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” When you think about it, our God is a lemonade kind of God. No matter what happens, He turns lemons into lemonade.
The devil thought for sure he had handed God the ultimate lemon when he drew Adam into sinning against God. But God already knew it would happen and had made a way. He sent Jesus to return man to God and once everything plays out, things will be even better than if Adam had never sinned at all. That’s definitely turning lemons to lemonade.
And when Israel turned away from God and was scattered throughout the face of the earth, the devil thought he had tossed more lemons at God than He could handle. He even threw in the Holocaust to make it especially sour. However, God decided to use those lemons to create a supernatural lemonade that could not be ignored- the restoration of a nation to its homeland. He took a dead language and resurrected it and brought His people back from the four corners of the world. What a miraculous batch of lemonade that has turned out to be!
God is in the lemonade stand business for sure. When we feel like all hell has come at us, we can rest assured that some lemonade is headed our way. God takes the sour experiences of life and finds a way to make something sweet out of it.
We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. Romans 8:28 (The Voice, VOICE)
If things are a bit sour for you right now, hold on- lemonade is about to be poured out!
