The Mind of Christ- Part 1
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
What does it mean to have the mind of Christ?
The mind of Christ is a spiritual mind, where you think with Christ’s mind. Your mind is on the things of God and the things of the Spirit- not on fleshly things. This spiritual mind produces life and peace. You flow in the life of God where your thoughts are on things that are true, pure, lovely, honest, just, of good report, and praiseworthy. You have a sound mind; a stable mind.
You are single-minded, where you make a wise decision and stick with it. Your thoughts are sound, therefore you make sound decisions. Your thinking is sound because your mind is renewed by God’s Word, so your thoughts are agreeable to God, His Word and His will.
With the mind of Christ, your memory is blessed. Howwever, you forget the offenses, the bad, and the wrong. Yes, you learn from the mistakes, missteps, and hurts of the past, but you don’t dwell on them. You are able to keep your mind on the Lord, therefore you’re at peace and rest, not worried, fearful, or anxious.
The mind of Christ enables you to think, reason, and work through problems to come up with the best answers. And if you are unable to come up with an answer, the mind of Christ trusts the Lord is working to fix things. You don’t try to figure everything out or ask why all the time because you know that God has not called you to confusion but to peace.
The mind of Christ causes us to think like Christ, act like Christ, and live like Christ. We have been given the mind of Christ, and we can use it right now!
Join us tomorrow as we continue discussing the mind of Christ.
