Make Peace With Your Past
We’ve all made mistakes. We’ve all made wrong decisions, spoken words we regretted, and misstepped. Instead of beating yourself up because of things in your past, just forget it, give it to God and move on. Let God take your mistakes and turn them into miracles. He can transform your messes into messages.
Of course, we should learn from the mistakes of the past to avoid repeating them. And if we can fix something we messed up, we should do so. But if nothing can be done about it, then leave it in the past. Don’t let the devil beat you up over it. Ask God for better days. The past has passed so leave it in the past and get past your past.
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)
God has promised better days ahead. God has new things, new beginnings for you. If you give Him your past, He can give you a good present and future.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
Do as Paul did- forget what is behind you and press forward. Forget yesterday, live in today, and expect good things in your tomorrows. Renew your mind to God’s Word and receive His love and vision. If you have done wrong things in the past, confess them to the Lord and then accept His forgiveness and move on as if you never sinned.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things Philippians 4:6-8 (KJV)
Receive the peace of God and do not allow the devil to condemn you over things that are over and done. Believe and think on God’s Word, which tells us that our best days are ahead of us. Make peace with your past and keep pressing on, for the best is yet to come.
