He's Everywhere!
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. Psalm 139:7-10 (New Living Translation, NLT)
No matter where we are, God finds a way to remind us of His presence. I don’t know about you, but I see Him everywhere. I see Him in the beauty of nature, the intelligence of human beings, the endlessness of outerspace, even in the order of mathematics. No matter where I am or where I look, there He is!
God is infinite. He has no beginning and He has no ending. He is omnipresent- meaning He is everywhere at all times. The Holy Spirit is in me and at the same time He is in you. It’s amazing.
When we spend time in God’s Word and in His presence, we learn to notice Him in our daily lives. What others may overlook, becomes a whisper from God to us that He is nearby. I even see Him in the numbers of the clock. When it is 12:34, I see the orderly progression of the numbers 1-2-3-4 and I am reminded that God is a God of order. When I see the time 5:55, I am reminded of the grace of God, because 5 represents grace in Scripture. When it is 2:25, Joel 2:25 comes to mind, telling me that God is the Restorer of lost years. The time 4:13 reminds me of Philippians 4:13, that I can do all things through Christ. And when I see 11:11, it reminds me of two things. First, I see the line-up of four 1’s, which stands for the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and me- all together in partnership. And I also see Hebrews 11:11.
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 (NKJV)
It brings to mind that everything God has conceived in me- all my dreams, desires, and destiny- will be birthed and will come to pass because God is faithful.
I also see God in license plate numbers, billboard images, television commercials, and on and on and on. Some people might think this is nuts, but it is simply the result of me keeping my mind stayed on God. When God is on your mind, you really do see Him everywhere. The plain truth is, I can’t escape from the Lord- and why would I want to?
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 (New Living Translation, NLT)
