Stand In Your Victory
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Ephesians 6:13-14 (KJV)
This verse tells us that when we are attacked, we need to stand against it. The devil is a thief and wants to take our victory; the victory Jesus already gave us. We’re not trying to get the victory- Jesus already got it for us.
This verse says to withstand, which means to resist and fight back. in other words, don’t let the devil steamroll over you or push you around. He’s a bully and you just have to put him in his place, which is under your feet. You do this by standing on the Word, speaking it in the name of Jesus.
The evil day referred to in this verse is any day in which an attack comes. The devil will try to attack with worry, fear, sickness, lack, and so on. But we fight back from a place of victory knowing that we have peace, health, and provision from God- everything we need. The enemy is a thief, and he wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), but as we enforce the victory we have in Christ, we will not lose our victory to the tricks of the devil. Think about it- if you didn’t already have something, whether it was wealth, health or whatever, the thief would not come to try to steal it. He doesn’t waste time trying to steal what you don’t have. So that’s proof you already have it!
Having done all to stand, stand in the victory Christ gave you. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Because we aren’t trying to get the victory, we can just stand and hold onto what we have. We aren’t fighting for victory but from victory. Stand to enforce your victory. As we put on the amror of God to fight the good fight of faith, God backs us up to keep the enemy under our feet. As we stand in the victory Jesus has given, we stand on the neck of the enemy.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:57-58 (KJV)
