The Real Superpower

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 (KJV)

For Spirit-filled believers, we have the power of the Holy Ghost, providing divine ability and empowerment. We are literally clothed with God’s power; the same power God used to create the worlds. We have the power to resist and overcome sin, the flesh, the ways of the world, and the power to overcome the devil and anyone or anything that would come against the church.

However, we must use this power for us to see any benefit or result. As we speak God’s Word, pray, praise and act on the Word, we release His power, His Word, and His Spirit to change and rearrange things- first in us and then in our communities, our nation, and our world.

The Holy Spirit gives us power to be witnesses for Christ. We have the power to be examples and set the standard for love, righteousness and godliness. We have this in order to overthrow wickedness and to exalt God and His dominion.

As we use our power against the powers of darkness, darkness will be expelled and God’s light will shine forth, creating an ever-increasing change for good in the world. What a superpower!
