Overcoming Life Issues- Part 2

Yesterday we began a discussion about some of the primary ways the Lord has given believers to overcome life issues.

• The Word

• The Spirit

• The Name

Today, we continue our discussion by looking at the role of the Spirit in helping us overcome.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Matthew 12:28 (KJV)

It is by the Spirit of God that we take authority over devils; not by any power of our flesh. The sons of Sceva tried to use authority over demons that they did not have because they did not have the Holy Spirit living in them. As a result, the devil whipped up on them (Acts 19).

God will manifest His kingdom, meaning His rule and His reign, in our lives as we demonstrate His power over the enemy. When we try to deal with devils, problems, or people in the flesh, we will lose every time. However, if we rely on the Spirit of God, He will cause us to overcome by His power.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

God will let us struggle and wear ourselves out trying to solve problems in the flesh. When we come to the end of ourselves and realize that without the Spirit of God nothing gets done, He will work things out for us. We don’t have to strain and struggle, We just have to rely on the Holy Spirit and let Him fight our battles for us. He can give us insider information to be victorious. He can supernaturally defeat our enemies. He can do what we cannot. By the Spirit of God we can overcome every life issue and win!
