Walk in The Victory
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? I John 5:4-5 (KJV) emphasis mine
Here the Apostle John shares three aspects of overcoming the world and the tribulation that is in the world.
The first one is to be born of God, or being born-again, born of God’s Spirit. Once saved, your spirit is in the God class. I didn’t say that you were God, but you now belong to God and are born of His Spirit. You are a child of God and He is your heavenly Father. All that is in God is now in you because God is in you. True, it begins in seed form, but as we grow and mature in God, all that He is and has grows in us. Wisdom, love, peace, life, light; these all come from God and are deposited in us. Now God expects us to live from our spirits, from a spiritual level, lving from the inside out. For example, When a need arises, we give our way out of that need. We sow toward that need so we can reap. God wanted a family, so He sowed His Son. Now He is reaping a harvest. So, by being born of God and operating from our spirit man, we can overcome the world.
The sconrd aspect of overcoming is faith. Our faith overcomes the world. Faith believes in God- that He is and that He will do what He has promised. Our faith is not in man’s ability but in the power of God. No matter what happens, God’s power is greater than any challenge. God demonstrated His power when He raised Jesus from the dead. Now that same power is available to us (Ephesians 1) who believe in His power. As we speak faith-filled words and act on the Word of God, we will see God’s power work in our lives. Power + Promises = Provision.
Finally, we overcome by believing; believing that Jesus is the Son of God. Know Who Jesus is- how He lived, that He died and rose again. All that Jesus is, you are in Him. Jesus walked in wisdom. He knew how to deal with people, circumstances, demons, sin, sickness, and lack. When you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is with you and in you, you can overcome anything the world may throw at you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
Jesus has already ovecome the world and defeated the god of this world- and He has given you the victory. Now walk in it!
