Pass The Test
And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Exodus 16:1-3 (KJV)
And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the Lord, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? Exodus 17:1-3 (KJV)
When we have needs or when we come to a place of wanting something, how do we respond? Do we complain or do we trust God?
Israel faced a food crisis. They tempted God when they complained against Moses. Do we complain when our needs aren’t met the way we want? Do we blame people in leadership for our lack? When we complain against them, we’re really complaining against the Lord. Yet, God rained down manna from heaven to show them He was able to meet their needs.
Then, they needed water, and once again they complained- yet God met the need.
We have to come to the point, to the place where we start passing our tests. We have to grow up and face life head-on, trusting God in the trial. Murmuring and whining just keeps us where we’re at longer. As a matter of fact, it can cause to lose ground that we previously gained. If we persist in complaining, we will never see or possess all that God has for us. So pass your test to obtain God’s best- or complain and remain stuck in your defeat, your lack of trust, and your immaturity.
Can God provide a table in the wilderness? Can He give water and manna- daily sustenance? The answer is yes!
Why do we come to the place where we need testing? God may not always bring the test, yet He will use it to give us opportunity to take and pass it. He does it so He is able to move us on, growing us and getting us closer to what He has for us. If you do not pass a test, God will allow you to take a make-up test. The key is to learn from the last time you took the test so you can pass it and move on.
Let’s pass our tests so God can bring us into a reward, so we can go higher and deeper in Him, so we can become more like Him everyday. The test has no trick questions. It’s simple really-complain and remain, or praise and be raised.
