Healing, Filling, Sealing
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Matthew 9:22 (KJV)
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4 (KJV)
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
As we go through things, we can get hurt- from words, disappointment, rejection, sickness, broken relationships, death, etc. The hurts and wounds we receive can make us broken, where things being to “leak” out of us. As a result, our experience of life is less than God intended. Because of the things we’ve been through, the things of God begin to seep out of us, like a broken vessel that cannot hold water.
So, how do we fix this? We go to God and give Him our pain and our wounds. He heals us and brings us back to a place of wholeness. Wholeness is where nothing is missing and nothing is broken- a place where all that was lost is restored. Only God’s love can make us whole.
Once we’re whole, God fills us and refills us with His Holy Spirit- a fresh filling of joy, peace, praise, love, life and laughter. We begin to contain what God pours in us because we’ve been made whole again and filled. And we walk in newness of life.
Then, God seals what He has healed and filled so we retain everything He’s put in us. God’s seal is our guarantee that we will make it- even all the way to heaven. His seal shows His ownership- it marks His people as His very own. We are God’s temple, His very dwelling place.
By healing, filling, and sealing us, God is keeping and protecting us. Now we can live life confidently, not dreading anything, because God can give us the victory over anything we may go through. And He uses it to make us better than before.
