Grace and Favor
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him…. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:40, 52 (KJV) emphasis mine
Grace and favor are related. Grace can bring you out of where you are and place you where God wants you to be. Grace is God’s ability working on our behalf and doing for us what we cannot do. God will grace us with favor- bringing us from the back to the front, from the bottom to the top.
Favor can put you in a place, and grace can keep you there. Favor is when someone prefers you, picks you, and promotes you. Then grace endues you with divine ability to do what is needed in that place. Favor causes you to be noticed and treated extra-nice, where people will go out of their way to do you good. Good things will happen because God’s favor is on you and God’s grace is in your life.
Grace is God’s divine ability and provision. Favor is God’s divine acceptance and approval. Together they are an unbeatable combination. God, by His grace and favor, will cause people to like you, choose you, and accept you. As God’s grace was upon Jesus, it is also upon us. As Jesus grew in favor with God and man, we too will grow in favor with God and man. When you have favor with God and man, there is nothing they will not do for you. This causes God’s goodness to be seen in our lives.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: II Corinthians 9:8 (KJV)
Grace abounds and favor increases. They really are the wonder twins!
