Grace For What We Face
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. II Corinthians 12:9-10 (New International Version, NIV)
God’s grace is enough to deal with our weaknesses, frailties, and failures. Those things simply show us how much we need God and how much God is stronger than anything and everything. We could define God’s grace as divine power, ability, and favor. it is unearned and unmerited favor.
We glory in our weaknesses, not because we are weak, but because Christ’s power rest upon us to enable us to go through whatever we face. God’s ability is bestowed on us to deal with things, even to deal with ourselves, not in our strength but in His. The weaker we become in ourselves, the more we decrease, and God and His grace, power, anointing and Spirit can increase in us and on us.
When I am weak in myself, that is when I am strong in Christ. So, we learn to depend on God to put us over and help us with our frailties as humans and our inadequacy to live life on our own. We are never without His help. For our weaknesses, frailties, and failures, there is grace and more grace. We have greater grace for what we face.
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 (NKJV)
