Let Patience Have Her Perfect Work
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
We must be patient to wait on God in order to receive what He has promised us. Patience helps us to receive God’s will and keep doing God’s will, especially when nothing seems to be happening. Patient endurance, and perseverance help us to be steady and stable, waiting patiently with a good attitude and full of confident expectation. As we press on, patience helps us to endure and not cast away our faith and confident trust in God.
God uses the waiting time to develop maturity and patience in us so we lack nothing. Our waiting is like a seed being planted and waiting must take place for the harvest to come. As we plant God’s Word, it is growing and maturing and we will see the desired end result. The harvest will come if we do not faint and give up.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
God is working, doing good things in us, for, us, and through us. Through faith and patience we shall obtain God’s promises. Patience girds up our faith so we see God’s promises manifest.
