Life and Light
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 (KJV)
This verse is talking about Jesus Christ, In Him is life and light. When we receive Jesus, His life and light come into our spirits, causing us to go from death to life, from darkness to life. The life of God is zoe in the Greek, or the eternal life, the quality of life God has. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17 (KJV)
Since life and light made our spirits brand new, we now need this same life and light to develop our souls (mind, will, and emotions), causing us to think with the mind of Christ, or an enlightened mind.
As we pray in the Spirit, we release the law of the Spirit to develop us. As we abide in Christ by abiding in His Word and walking with Christ, we begin to think and speak correctly, saying who God made us to be. We become brighter in our intellect to learn, think, remember and become smarter in the Lord. The Lord develops us as we spend time in God’s life and light. We increase in wisdom and knoweldge and the reverential fear of the Lord.
God’s life and light can heal our bodies, even giving us new body parts. As we believe and speak the Word and encounter God, we tap into the life and light of God. This will cause us to live life from the inside out, becoming who God made us to be spirit, soul, and body. His life and light give us strong spirits, sound minds, and whole bodies.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Psalm 36:9-10 (KJV)
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 (KJV)
