The Message of the Resurrection

Because I live, ye shall live also. John 14:19 (KJV)

Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (KJV)

The resurrection of Jesus tells us and shows us that nothing can stop Him. Nothing can defeat Him, hold Him back, or hold Him down. Nothing can hold Him- period. The resurrection reveals to us that nothing is too hard and nothing is impossible for Him to overcome.

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. I Corinthians 15:20 (KJV)

All that Jesus did, He did for us. He overcame hurt, sin, sickness, mistreatment, injustice, betrayal, denial, satan himself, and death, hell, and the grave. He conquered it all just for us. He did it so we could be free and so we could overcome.

Jesus is telling us that because He is an overcomer, we can be too. He died and rose again so we could overcome all. We can now overcome anything we face. Jesus Christ is in us and we are in Him, therefore He’s with us. Nothing can stand against us because nothing can stand against Jesus. Because he overcame, we overcome.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:54-57 (KJV)

Even death could not overcome Christ, and it cannot overcome us either.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:18 (KJV)

Speak the name of Jesus to enjoy what He accomplished for you. Because Jesus lives, we live. Because He won, we win. We are truly more than conquerors. There is no power that can succeed against us- the resurrection tells us that.
