Falling in Love With Love

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21 (KJV)

This is a relational verse. It shows God loves us and we love Him. When we love someone, we do what they ask us to do. We take their desires seriously. We want what they want. So… how do we fall in love with Jesus?

We fall in love with Him by seeing His love for us. Then, knowing how much Jesus loves us makes us want to love Him more. We love Him because He loved us first (I John 4:19). There is no greater love than the love that is displayed when a man gives His own life for others (John 15:13).

I love God by the love God puts in my heart for Him. God is love and He loves. God pours His love in our hearts so we can love Him with His own love (Romans 5:5). As we keep and do Jesus’ words, we show our love for Jesus. We love Jesus to the degree that we love and keep His Word and words. Then, as we experience His love, we respond with more love. That is how we fall in love with Jesus and stay in love with him.

As I worship Jesus, I feel His presence. By this, I am reminded that Jesus loves me. In response, I worship Him out of love more and more. The more I worship Jesus, the more I fall in love with Him which leads me to worship Him more. As I see more clearly who Jesus is, which is everything good, I give Him my everything.

Whoever has my heart has my love. We must guard our hearts to keep falling in love with Jesus over and over daily. When we hurt or face difficulties, the best thing to do is to love on Jesus. This expression of love is a demonstration of faith and and trust in His love, and our deliverance will manifest. Jesus shows us again and again how much He loves us by meeting our needs.

Remember the first and greatest command is to love God. Love fulfills all of God’s Word. When we do this, God’s Word is fulfilled to us. No matter what is happening, fall in love and stay in love with Jesus. He is the greatest love and lover.
