Prophetic Vision- Part 2
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
Vision is what we see in God’s Word through the Holy Spirit- a word, dream, revelation, sight. We don’t necessarily see it with our natural eyes, but as the Holy Spirit enlightens our heart’s eye, we begin to see by revelation those things that God has for us.
As we previously discussed, the word vision in Hebrew speaks of sight, revelation, a prophetic word, a dream, a mental picture. God places dreams in our hearts and minds: pictures of what we can be, do, and have. As we dream with God, our dream becomes bigger and clearer.
God took Abraham outside his tent and showed him the stars in the sky to enlarge his vision, to give him a glimpse of how God sees things- generationally and in the light of eternity. God told him to look at the stars and said that was how big He would make Abraham’s descendants- countless in number. In the same way, God’s dream for us keeps enlarging as we dream with Him. He places His Word in our hearts and, line upon line, God builds on that vision.
As we get a vision for our lives by praying, being in the Word, and spending time with God, God will birth a vision in our hearts that no circumstance, time, person, devil, battle, or disappointment can stop. When we know that we heard from God, that He opened our spiritual eyes to see His vision for us, we will contend for that prophetic vision until it comes to pass.
The bigger the battle, the bigger the blessing. As God blessed Abraham, God has and will bless us. As we keep our eyes on God, focusing and fixed on the vision, we will continue to take every step to its manifestation. Vision gives us purpose and direction for our lives. As we persist towards the vision, it will come to pass, and we will see its fulfillment. Any worthwhile vision is worth receiving, believing, and taking steps to walk out until it comes about.
