Is Your Mouth Working For You or Against You? Part 1

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37 (KJV)

There is power in our tongues. There is power in our words. We can use our mouths to works for us or against us. If we are sick, and we only say that we are sick, our words are working against our healing and health. Our words will work for us when we speak life rather than death. God’s Word is life, so when we speak the Word, we speak life, and our words will work for us to produce healing.

We’re not alone in the fight of faith. God has given us His Word, and as we speak the Word, God goes to work for us. As we speak God’s Word, our words become His, which work for us and not against us.

When we speak death, which is essentially anything that is contrary to what God has said in His Word- doubt, unbelief- those words work against us. They produce sickness, lack, ignorance, defeat. Then, we wonder why we’re not healed, happy, or blessed.

Our mouths work for us or against us. What we speak is what we reap. Our wrods are seeds that we plant. Ask yourself, “What words have I been planting that will bring a harvest to my life?” What we speak will show up in our lives. Speak blessing so words of blessing will go to work for you and produce a harvest of blessing for you. Don’t use words that curse, or work against you and what God wants to do to bless you.

Speak life, not death. Speak blessing, not cursing. Speak victory, not defeat.

As we use our words to work for us, our lives will turn around. We’ll move from bad to good, from failure to success, from bondage to freedom, from depression to joy. Make God’s Word your words, and the Word will work for you.
