Is Your Mouth Working For You or Against You? Part 2
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Matthew 11:23 (KJV)
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:20-21 (KJV)
As we discussed in yesterday’s post, we need to let what we say work for us and not against us.
Don’t pray faith and speak doubt- this will cancel out our prayers. We wonder why our prayers are not being answered, but God can’t answer them when our words are working against us. Man may violate His Word, but God will not.
We can’t praise and thank God one minute and complain the next. This cancels out the effects of our praise. We must be consistent in using words of praise to God so it will have a positive effect in our lives.
We must not cancel out our giving and destroy the harvest off of the good seeds we’ve sown by pulling up what we’ve planted. When we speak wrong words like, “I wish I hadn’t given that,” or “This is not working,” we pull our good seeds right out of the ground. How many harvests have been aborted by words of regret or doubt?
As we speak God’s Word over every area of our lives, His Word causes our words to work for us. As a result, we’ll see and enjoy the life we desire.
We need to speak words of love to others. These words will work to build healthy relationships. We need to build others up and not tear them down. we do this by speaking positive words over them, not negative ones.
As we forgive, get strife out of our lives, and let go of worry, anger, negative emotions, and wrong mindsets, we can overcome everything we face. Give it all to God with your words to let your words work for you. Speak the right words to cancel out the wrong ones and to release the good things of God into your life. Start speaking words that put you over rather than negative, defeating words that will keep you under.
You can literally change the course of your life, turning it in the direction you want it to go, as you speak words that work for you and not against you. You can take back control of your life by what you allow to come out of your mouth.
If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. James 3:2 (KJV)
