How and Why?

In this particular time, many of us in the body of Christ are asking two questions. “How did everything get so bad?” and “Why is it taking so long to fix it?” If we were really honest, we would admit that when we ask these questions, what we are really asking is “Why did God let it get so bad?” and “Why is God taking so long to take care of it?” In essence, we blame God for the mess the world is in.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:28 (New Living Translation, NLT) emphasis mine

You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28 (NKJV)

The harsh reality of the situation is that we, as the body of Christ, let it get this bad, and it is taking so long to turn it around because we haven’t been doing our part. True, there have been some standing in faith, but for the most part, the church has not been doing her part to resist evil. As we have stated over and over again in our blog posts, Christians have the authority that Jesus died to give them and they need to exercise it in the earth. Either we have been too distracted by other things, too clueless about the authority that is ours, or just too lazy to act. Plain and simple- it is on us, not on God. When righteous people don’t act, it allows the wicked to walk right in and take over.

We have authority in the earth to use our faith and speak the Word of God over any situation and expect it to come to pass. When prayer was removed from our public schools, what did we do? Where was the church? When the Bible was removed from school libraries and the Ten Commandments barred from government buildings, where was the outrage? When they released a biological weapon on the world, how did we respond? When elections were clearly rigged, what have we done? Why has the body of Christ bought the lie of separation of church and state? Read the Bible, and you’ll see that God is active in government as much as anywhere else. Jesus Himself did not shy away from politics and confronting the leaders of the day.

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (NKJV)

For too long, we believers have been asleep at the wheel, so to speak. We have allowed these things to happen. We have authority over the devil and his plans. Evil does not have to rule the earth. We can stop him in His tracks if we’ll receive our blood-bought authority, stand up, and make the effort to repel him.

We can’t expect one man, or even a group of people, no matter how intelligent and strong, to save a nation and the world. God is the only One who can save us from the wickedness that has taken over much of the world, but we have to partner with Him. Decree and speak His Word- consistently. Our speech should be full of His words of faith and victory. We should be talking of God’s victory and declaring and proclaiming the enemy’s defeat. Use your mouth to bring down the wicked plans of the enemy and every evil ruler and leader in all realms of society. We even have to use our authority for the Lord to clean the evil and compromise from the church. And don’t go on and on about how bad things look. This just gives power to the devil’s plans. We can win with our words and, as God leads us, our actions.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. I John 5:4 (NKJV)

Yes, evil has been very successful in having it’s way and it has happened gradually over many, many years. However, because of the cries of his remnant, God is cancelling out the plans of the wicked and erasing any trace of their evil deeds. If we want victory to come as quickly and effectively as possible, we’d better join forces with God and with one another to speak it forth. It is our duty and responsibility, as well as our privilege, to be a part of ushering the overwhelming glory of God into the earth. We have been partly responsible for the how and why of our current situation, but we can repent and work with God to turn it around for the great end time harvest of souls to take place.
