God's Word to Make Things Right
Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Luke 3:2-6 (KJV) emphasis mine
When we’re in a wilderness, alone and isolated, we must listen to the Lord. He will give us a word to prepare us for the days ahead and to help others. Like John the Baptist, we are to share the word we receive with others so they can turn to God or turn back to God.
Be the one with a voice for God. Tell people to prepare for the Lord’s coming- so Jesus can come into their hearts and lives and bring change.
As John the Baptist said, the valley you’re in will be filled by God so that it is no longer a valley. God turns valleys into level paths, with mountains and hills brought low. God will make things even and level in us and in our lives so we’re not easily shaken or troubled. This means we won’t get too high or too low, but we’ll be steady and stable as we go.
Each path that was crooked and twisted will be made straight. God is going to make things right for us. What was once rough shall be made smooth. Regardless of how things appear, God is making things better, and all flesh shall see God’s salvation.
