The Flood of His Love, Blood, and Dove

The Flood of His Love, Blood, and Dove

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19 (KJV)

The original language does not contain punctuation, so translators did their best to place commas, periods, and so forth in the places they thought they should go. In the second part of this particular verse, it has been asserted that the comma has been placed incorrectly. Some believe, and I tend to agree, that it should be written this way:

When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

What a huge difference in the meaning this makes. If you read it in context, it makes more sense that way. The enemy comes in to attack, but a flood of God’s love, His blood, and the Dove raises a standard against him.

Love

God’s love is a protection from hate, a hard heart, and harm. God’s love guards and watches over us. God is love, and He is like a flood that washes away all the hurt, pain, and injustice. His love washes every enemy away. When we feel unloved, His love floods in to overwhelm us and show us how much the Father really loves us.

The phrase “lift up a standard” can also mean “put him to flight.” God’s love puts all enemies to flight, chasing them out of our lives so we see them no more. Consider God’s comment to Moses that the enemies they saw they would see no more forever. That’s the power of the love of our Father!

Blood

Jesus blood is truly a flood that washes sins away. It also covers us and protects us so no evil can get to us to harm us. Claim the power of the blood in the name of Jesus and you’ll see change. You’ll go from sin to salvation, from death to life, from sickness to wholeness, and from lack to provision. God’s blood comes flooding in to show that God is a Keeper of His blood covenant. That’s the flood of His blood.

Dove

The flood of His Dove is the flood of the Holy Spirit. Flood speaks of waters, and water often represents the flowing and movement of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard against the enemy. When the enemy comes in, Holy Spirit is activated, His flow moving the enemy out of the way. Holy Spirit is supernatural and His standard is supernatural. The river of His flood flows in, bringing God’s life into a situation- it’s God’s rescue operation. The flood of the Dove, like a mighty river, washes every enemy away and out of our path, giving us a smooth road to travel. Holy Spirit removes resistance.

Whatever the need, the flood of God’s love, blood, and Dove has already met it. Call upon the Lord. Claim His promises as your own. Cash in on all that’s yours. God lifts up a standard for His own- of His love, blood, and Dove.
