SPECIAL POST: A Prayer For President Trump
Yesterday, an attempt was made to assassinate the President of the United States. Yes, I said the President and not the former President because I am convinced that is how God sees Donald Trump. However, the attempt failed because God protected him.
In times like these, just as in other times, we turn to the Lord and to His Word. Psalms 61, 62, and 63 all speak of the king’s (David’s) protection, and this applies to the godly leader of any nation. I believe it is significant that there are three chapters in a row on this topic. Three speaks of the Triune God, and truly God is with President Trump and is protecting him. Let’s look at Psalm 61, verse-by-verse, in the King James Version, as King David prays to the Lord for protection and deliverance..
1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
God listens to the cry of the righteous and pays attention to our prayers.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Wherever we are, God hears us when we cry out to Him. When we are overwhelmed and our hearts are troubled, we can go to the Rock, Jesus Christ.
3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
God is our safe refuge, a fortress into which we can run and our enemies cannot reach us.
4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
We are safe in God as we live in Him. Under His wings, we find shelter and ultimate protection.
5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
God hears us because we are His children and He gives us the inheritance of the saints.
6 Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.
Long life is granted for President Trump and for us as we trust in the Lord.
7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
Living in God’s presence and leading from His presence, President Trump is protected and kept by God’s unfailing love and His faithfulness. God watches over him.
8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
We praise God forever, thereby we and President Donald J. Trump can fulfill our duties and fulfill the destiny God has for us.
Let’s continue to pray intently for President Trump and for this nation, standing on this Psalm and other relevant Scripture. God alone was responsible for sparing the life of Donald Trump, and we must continue to cover him in prayer, using our authority to plead the blood of Jesus over him, to decree divine protection, and to proclaim that the plans of the enemy are thwarted at every turn. God has a good plan for President Trump and for the United States, but we must do our part to stand against evil in the name of Jesus. God wins because He is unbeatable, and He is the Rock that is higher than you, me, anyone or anything.
