God Is Too Wise, Too Good, Too Great

Recently, I heard the following in my spirit: “God is too wise to make a mistake, God is too good to be unkind. God is too great to not make a way.” After this, I read Psalm 104, which basically said the same thing.

God Is Wise

O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Psalm 104:24 (New Living Translation, NLT)

God is perfect. His way is perfect. All He does is perfect. In His wisdom, He made everything; all that is good. At the account of creation God saw what He had made and said it was good. In His perfection, God cannot make a mistake. He is just too wise for error.

God Is Good

Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small. See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea. They all depend on you to give them food as they need it. When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied. Psalm 104:25-28 (New Living Translation, NLT)

God is too good to be unkind. in His goodness, He extends kindness to His creation. Out of that goodness, He gives to all, even to the unthankful. He causes it to rain on the just and unjust alike. Even when man is unjust, God is just and good. It is His goodness that draws people to repent. God isn’t good to all of us because we’re good. No, God is kind to everyone and everything because He IS good. His goodness and love compelled Him to give us Jesus, the ultimate expression of His goodness. He did it for all to see. If you think no one loves you and no one is kind, think again.

God Is Great

Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. Psalm 104:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)

God is too great to not make a way. He is so great that He is robed with honor and majesty. He is dressed in a robe of light. Nothing and no one is greater than God Almighty. He delights in making a way where there seems to be no way. Our great God does what we cannot do and makes a way for us. He makes a way through the fire, flood, storm- anything and everything we face. If you’ll read through the entirety of Psalm 104, you’ll see descriptions of God’s greatness displayed. It is awe-inspiring.

God does what He does based on who He is: wise, good, great, and so much more. Creation gives us glimpses of God and His attributes Whatever you come up against, let this thought always be in your mind:

  • God is too wise to make a mistake. God knows what is best for us.

  • God is too good to be unkind. God always loves us.

  • God is too great to not make a way. God has all power to us on our behalf.
