Loving God's Presence- Part 2

Loving God's Presence- Part 2

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 (KJV)

David’s top desire was God, and He sought after Him with his whole heart. Seeking God starts with desire, which shows how hungry and thirsty we are for God. As we desire Him, other things won’t distract us and steal our desire for Him. Our one desire should be to know God, seeking Him and finding Him. As we seek Him, we experience Him more and more. In our seeking, we are drawn more and more to God. As we seek Him and find Him more and more, we experience the Lord- His presence- gazing upon His beauty.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

The more we seek, the more we find. The more we hunger and thirst after God, the more we are filled. The more we look and listen, the more we see and hear the Lord. As we come into God’s house to worship Him, hear His Word, and experience His presence through worship, our desire for Him will be fulfilled. As we seek, we are satisfied. we find our rest in Him. When His glory and presence manifest, our days take on new meaning. As we look upon the Lord, all our distractions have been put aside to be with Him. Inquiring of the Lord is our one necessity of life, for God is our life!

As we do these things, we will find ourselves falling and staying in love with God, content just to be with Him. Our desire is to sit at His feet, hearing His Word. As we are drawn by Him to Him we are ever satisfied to know Him, be with Him, and love Him, receiving all He is, all He has, and all He does. He is the One our whole being is satisfied to be with. Our heart’s desire and wish is to know and share fellowship with God.
