Sing Over Your Situation

Sing Over Your Situation

I was singing a song the other day and in my heart I heard the Lord say, “Sing over your situation.” Unlike anything else, a song can cut through whatever we are going through, whatever we feel, whatever we think. When we feel helpless and don’t know what to do, or when we are waiting for a breakthrough- we can sing. We can sing a written song, sing the Word, sing a new song, sing in the Spirit, sing a prophetic song, or sing a song of the Lord. When we sing to Him and about Him, God gets involved. An example of this is found in II Chronicles 20 when King Jehoshaphat had the singers lead the way when enemy armies had them out numbered. God gave them the victory without them ever needing to fight.

In Genesis 1, God spoke the Word to bring things into existence, and the Holy Spirit was brooding over the Word to bring it to pass. In the same way, as we sing God’s Words, Holy Spirit is watching, listening, and He brings it to pass.

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12 (New American Standard Bible, NASB)

So, we are never without an answer or at a disadvantage. We can sing our way out of anything and into what we need. As we sing the song God gives us, it releases victory in our lives. Your victory is in your mouth and in your song. The song I was singing the other day was God Will Make A Way by Don Moen. As we sing to the Lord and over our situations, God will make a way where there seems to be no way, for Jesus is the Way. He’s the Road in the wilderness and our living waters we drink from.

Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; Isaiah 43:16 (KJV)

I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19b (KJV)

These scriptures declare that God is the Way Maker. As we sing to the Lord, especially singing His Word, faith is released that God watches over His Word to bring it to pass. As He is working, God is guiding us, ever drawing and holding us close to His side- as a shepherd holds his sheep close to Him and carries them close to His heart.

As the song goes, “God will make a way, where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see- He will make a way for me. He will be my Guide, hold me closely to His side. With love and strength for each new day, He will make a way. He will make a way”

Read Isaiah 35:6-10 to stay encouraged that God is working. You will see God meet every need. Keep singing!
