Looking to Jesus
As we look to Jesus, we lose sight of ourselves- our weaknesses, sins and failures. When we look to Him, we are overtaken by who Jesus is. He is love. He is pure. He is good. In looking to Him, we become more conscious of Him and less conscious of ourselves. As a result, we focus more on His strengths and less on our own weaknesses. We begin to see that when we’re weak, He is strong. We see that where we can’t, He can. As we focus on Him, we lose sight of our past and we see Jesus in our present.
Jesus never fails, and He will cause us to succeed. We are not alone or on our own, because He is with us. When we look away from all that distracts, defeats and defiles, we lose ourselves and find Jesus. He becomes our main attraction. When we lose ourselves in Him, we actually find our true selves. We find Jesus and who He is in us and who we are in Him.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
Don’t give up. Keep looking to Jesus, and you will make it.
