The Lover of My Soul- Part 2: My True Love
And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:5 (New Living Translation, NLT)
There are many loves we encounter: the love between a man and woman, a love for family and friends, even a love for music and a love of doing certain things. Through our lives, we have many loves- some stay and some may come and go. Some loves may have disappointed us, but there is one love that never disappoints or deserts us. It never hurts us. It is the love of God. It is the one true love that always remains.
I John tells us that God is love. Because He is love, and He is eternal, then His love is eternal. It is everlasting and always present with us. As we make Jesus our true Love, He will never hurt us and His love for us goes on forever. Let Jesus be your true Love, your One and Only.
My beloved is mine, and I am his. Song of Solomon 2:16 (KJV)
Jesus is the Love of my life, the Lover of my soul, my one true Love, Life and Lord. Is He yours? When all other loves fade and fail, know that the love of Jesus never does. It never gets old or grows cold. His love is a love we can always count on- it’s here for the long haul; in the good times and bad times. It is constant and enduring. It is everlasting. Keep Jesus as your first love, above all others, and you won’t be hurt or disappointed.
The Lord appeared to me (Israel) from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you. Jeremiah 31:3 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
