Think Like God
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
These verses tell us what to think on, and they tell us how to think: with the mind of Christ. We are to be thinking Christians. God has given us a brain and mind with which to think.. We need to learn to think for ourselves and not allow others to do our thinking for us. Life is full of people who want to tell you what to do and how to do it- even how to think. Wise up and wake up. Use your God-given ability to think for yourself.
Think on God. Think on solutions to problems. Work things out on your own if you can by using the amazing brain you’ve been blessed with. The more we use our minds, the sharper our thinking and problem-solving becomes. Think on God’s Word, which makes us think more and more like God Himself. It will cause us to think beyond limits. God and His Word have no limits so our thinking will know no limits as we meditate on Scripture.
Learn to be alone with your thoughts and just spend time thinking. As we dedicate time to God and think on Him, He will speak into our spirits and bring godly thoughts. Think on the Word to be like God. If a thought comes and you’re not sure if it is God, test it by seeing if it lines up with Scripture. If it does, fine. If not, ditch it.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 (KJV)
We renew our minds to God’s Word, which gives us God’s thoughts. It produces a spiritual mind in us- a mind controlled by the Holy Spirit. He will enlarge our thinking so the impossible become possible. God does not want our thinking to keep us down or hold us back.. Look at what God has created. God is a big thinker. As we get in agreement with Him, we think like Him, which makes us big thinkers too.
As we spend time alone with God, His thinking rubs off on us. Praying in the Spirit and worshiping Him will help direct our thinking. Fast to release God’s power in your life. Renew your mind to the Word. Speak the Word. And don’t forget to purposely take time to think.
We can tap into the very mind of God; the creative ability of God. We can think like He does.
