Fight- Part 1

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I Timothy 6:12 (KJV)

We are instructed to fight. There’s a right way and a wrong way to fight. We fight in the Spirit, not in the flesh (II Corinthians 10:4-5). We must decide to fight and decide to win. We can never quit, give in, or give up.

When God calls us to fight, we know we will win and get the spoils of war. We can’t stop fighting, and we can never surrender to the enemy. Rather than allow the enemy to try and try to wear us down, it is time to fight back- with the Word of God. When we speak the Word out of our mouths, it becomes the sword of the Spirit. Our fight is not with flesh and blood, but with satan and his devils. Speaking the Word can slice and dice them like nobody’s business!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)

We must use the Name of Jesus and enforce God’s Word in our lives. Our weapons are not natural weapons such as guns, knives or tanks. Our weapons are spiritual, such as prayer, praise, the blood of Jesus and the Word. I don’t oppose people having natural weapons to defend themselves, but the most effective warfare is done in the spirit realm. We can fight by fasting, giving of ourselves and our resources, and doing good to others. We overcome evil with good, using God’s wisdom to do what’s right. The Holy Spirit will lead us in the battle, showing us what to do to have the most spiritual impact (Romans 8:14).

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? I John 5:4-5 (KJV)

When we fight, God guarantees us victory. Christ has already gotten us the victory, now we just enforce it to keep it. As we continue to fight, we will take the land. We will recover everything the devil and wicked people have stolen from us. So, keep fighting. Don’t back down. Fight the good fight of faith. Fight on. Fight for your rights. Fight for what’s right. Fight! Fight! Fight! The good fight is one we win!
