Overcoming Life Issues- Part 3

Today we’ll conclude our discussion on three of the main ways believers overcome issues in life.

• The Word

• The Spirit

• The Name

As we discuss the Name of Jesus, we’ll see that it is no ordinary name.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV) emphasis mine

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength….And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Acts 3:6-7, 16 (KJV) emphasis mine

Jesus’ Name is the Name above all names. It has supreme authority over any other name. If something has a name, the Name of Jesus has authority over it. The name of cancer, the name of poverty, the name of diabetes, the name of depression, the name of failure must all bow to the Name of Jesus.

Sickness, debt, problems, devils, wickedness, storms, cannot win against the Name of Jesus. When we command something to leave in the Name of Jesus, it must leave. If it is sickness, command it to leave your body in the Name of Jesus. As we speak God’s Word and use the Name of Jesus, Holy Spirit hovers over that Word to bring it to pass- just as we have seen in Genesis 1. Jesus’ Name combined with the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit brings the Word to pass in our lives.

 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 12:17-18 (KJV) emphasis mine

Nothing can stand against the Name of Jesus. It is our authority in this earth. Jesus gave us His Name as power of attorney. As we use His Name, it is as if Jesus Himself is doing the speaking. The Name of Jesus gets results for us every time.

As we have seen, the believer can overcome the issues of life by the Word, the Spirit and the Name. We have been given the victory!
