God Sees You Differently
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Wow, this is how God sees us now that we’re in Christ- a new creation. This speaks of our new spirits, our spirit man is made new in Christ. We are born-again, born of God’s Spirit. We are righteous, holy, loved, and accepted. The old you is gone and God now sees only the new you.
God does not see our sins, past failures, weaknesses, or our faults. God looks at us as a new creation- not defeated or barely getting by. He sees us as His children- the object f His affection. You are more than what you’ve been through. You are more than what people and life have done to you.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
See yourself as a new creation. Live by your spirit and not by reliving your failures and mistakes. Don’t let anything in life define you. You are God’s child, a new spirit, full of God. You have His wisdom and you are full of His righteousness. You can think, speak, and do right, for God has made you right. And even if you do wrong, just admit it, confess it to Him, accept His forgiveness, forget it, and live free of it like He made you to live. Don’t see yourself as a failure just because you failed at something. View yourself as a success.
When people don’t show love to you, remember that God, who is Love, loves you. Envision Him loving you and embracing you close to His heart. See yourself the way He does. See yourself knowing all things in Christ (I John 2:20). See yourself doing all things in Christ (Philippians 4:13). See yourself having all things in Christ (II Peter 1:3). You can see yourself that way because that’s who you really are in Christ.
God sees us loved, forgiven, and chosen by Him. You are more than you are presently producing. You are more than who you appear to be now. God is maturing you into Christlikeness, so don’t be hard on yourself when you mess up. God will clean your mess up, pick you up, and take you up so you can go up.
The book of Ephesians is helpful in seeing ourselves properly. Ephesians 1-3 shows us who we are, what we have, and what we can do in Christ. it shows us who God made us to be, what God has done, and what He has given us. Ephesians 4-6 shows us how to walk out who God made us to be in our daily lives.
So, live life from the position of who God made you in Christ. We live a supernatural life now in Christ, by Christ, and with Christ. As we see ourselves the way God does, we will become who he has made us. In other words, we will live out in our lives who God has made us in our spirits. The new inner man will flow out and be demonstrated by the outer man. As new creations in Christ, with our minds renewed to God’s Word, giving our bodies to God to fill them and flow through them, we walk out who we really are. See yourself the way God does, and you will be free to be and do all God has planned for you.
