You Matter To God
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Even when you think you don’t matter, you matter to God. When you feel unimportant, know you are especially important to God. God sees you differently. He sees you as His prized possession. He created you who you are. You are loved, important, valued, and esteemed by God. It’s not about what you do, who you know, or what you can’t do or who doesn’t know you. When you feel like you’re not worth much and you never will be, remember that God loves you.
When you feel unimportant, know that you are part of God’s master plan. God has created and included you in His plans for us. You are a piece to the puzzle. Without you the puzzle is incomplete. You belong. You have a place in God because of God. He places a high value on you. He treasures you, longs for you, desires you and needs you.
God loves you just for you. He cares who you are and how you are. He sees your struggles and your weaknesses. He is aware of your hurts, failures, and all the rest of what troubles you. God looks at you and sees deeper. He sees your heart and knows the real you. He knows you even better than you know yourself- and He loves what He sees.
God’s love is what makes any of us valuable, accepted, and special. We matter to Him simply because He is love, and He loves us. God’s love makes a difference, a change. God’s love says we matter. When we are overlooked or forgotten by people, God is looking right at us- we are on His mind. We are His masterpiece, created by God for God. He made us so we could be recipients of His love.
We matter to God and He proved it by giving us Jesus. God is with us because we matter. He blesses us, helps us, gives to us, and showers us with His love, Word, and presence. He does good things for us to show us that we matter to Him. As we come to God, He lives in us and we live in Him. His goodness draws us to Him. As we draw close to Him, He shows us how much He loves, cares, and wants us.
Never forget that you are valuable, and you matter in this world- because you matter to God.
