Secrets

Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, Ephesians 5:11-13 (New Living Translation, NLT)

For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. Luke 8:17 (New Living Translation, NLT)

We are living in a time of the great revealing of secrets. Secret plans, plots, and schemes are being brought to light. As we see in the verses above, God is not fond of the secret works of men. He knows that deeds done in secret are rarely good, but are hidden so their wickedness is not known to others. Secret lifestyles and secret societies are not built on the principles of the Word of God- or they would have no need to be kept secret.

If you haven’t noticed, many secret things are being “leaked.” Secret and hidden agendas are being made known to all- a little bit at a time right now, but soon it will come out in a flood. Truth always prevails over lies and deceit and dark acts of men. And those caught up in such things should heed the Word of the Lord and repent- or be carried away in the deluge.

If you or someone you know is part of a secret society- one in which they are sworn to not tell what goes on in their meetings and what the group is really about- the warning is clear. Secret societies are not secretive to make the “club” more exclusive. Many groups are exclusive without being covert in their activities. Exclusivity is based on who you allow in the group, not in keeping the group’s activities and true mission a secret. Secret societies are secretive because what they are based on and the things they do are in direct opposition to God and the good things of God. They masquerade as groups working to benefit the local community and do good in society, but they are full of sorcery and wicked incantations. Their divination is their purpose and their worship of the prince of darkness and their commitment to dark deeds is what they are truly about. And deception is at the heart of it all. They deceive the rest of society. And they deceive those seeking membership and those in lower ranks of the group- these people have no clue what the true belief of the organization is- or if they have a suspicion, it is brushed aside as conspiracy theory. But, once a member has reached a certain level in the organization, the truth is revealed and they are faced with the choice to either embrace the group’s evil belief system and renounce God, or be expelled and blackballed from the people they have come to know as close friends and confidants.

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. James 4:4 (New Living Translation, NLT)

The choice is clear, and the warning is being given. Extract yourself from such groups and activities before it is too late. God is extending His hand to you right now and giving you one more chance to be spared from the judgment that is coming upon those who keep such secrets. Turn away from the secrets and embrace the truth.
