Are You Ready?
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 (NKJV)
The Great Awakening is coming- actually it has already begun. Each and every child of God should be asking themselves, “Am I ready?” We must be spiritually and mentally ready for what is about to happen if we want to be used by God in this pivotal moment in history. My heart’s cry is “Lord, do not let me miss what you are doing.” I hope it is yours as well.
Vast numbers of people are about to be drawn to the Lord. We must be prayed up and spiritually prepared. The power of God is about to be poured out and we must be postured to be vessels that the Lord can work through. The first thing we must do is examine ourselves to make sure that there is no sin or anything in us that would hinder the working of the Lord. Ask God to show you anything that is not pleasing to Him or that would interfere with what He wants to do in you and through you. Then, we need to simply repent with sincere hearts and take steps to prevent ourselves from letting it back in.
Great power requires great capacity. Is your spirit enlarged enough to receive the download that God is about to make? If not, now is the time to take care of that. We enlarge our spirits by praying in the Holy Spirit and spending time in the presence of the Lord, worshiping Him and fellowshipping with Him. Now is not the time to be distracted by other things. Now is the time to seek the Lord like never before.
Tremendous amounts of people will be saved during this time. And they will not be what those of us in the church are used to seeing. They won’t all dress like us, talk like us, live like us, think like us, or even smell like us. Are you ready for that? The first thing the devil will use to try to shut down a move of God is a religious spirit. A religious spirit says that revival must fit into a certain preconceived idea of what is acceptable. If something does not look like what they expected or people don’t act or look like they do, they reject it as not being of God. That is a religious spirit and it is the enemy of God’s “new thing.” Don’t try to clean the fish before they are caught- just get them in the net, disciple them in the Word, and then God will work on anything that needs to change. Walk in love towards all.
For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 (NKJV)
Understand that this next move of Gd will not be confined to the four walls of the church. Revival will be everywhere because the glory of God will be everywhere. People will be healed and delivered in the supermarket, the gas station, the school yard, the boardroom- anywhere and everywhere. Be ready to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit wherever you are. If He tells you to lay hands on someone in the line at the bank or the waiting room at the doctor’s office, or wherever- do it. That is why we must be prayed up and ready- so we can clearly hear Him and obey.
