It's Time To Dream Again
After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. Genesis 15:1-5 (KJV)
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Genesis 17:1-8 (KJV)
It is time to dream again. If you don’t have a dream for your life, it is time for you to spend time with God and get intimate with Him. He’ll place the seed of His Word in your heart so you’ll get pregnant with a dream - His dream for you and your life. His dreams are so much bigger than ours and they come to pass. God will show you what He has dreamed up for you like He did with Abraham, when God took him out of his tent and told him to look up and count the stars. God had to get him out of what he was used to looking at so he could see what God saw.
Our surroundings can limit our dreams or cause to not dream at all. God tells us to get beyond where we are, look up, and begin to see what He has for us. God was getting Abraham to hook up with Him to dream along with God. God’s dreams are so much better than anything we can come up with. When we begin to hear and look at what God is saying and showing us, our vision is enlarged and we see beyond the here and now. Our dreams extend beyond the moment and beyond ourselves to affect mankind for all eternity.
If you lost your dream, I say it is time to dream again. Trust God to give you His dreams, then believe Him and follow Him to see them come to pass. As we keep our eyes on Jesus, stand on God’s Word, and let the Holy Spirit lead us, we will see those dreams realized. Hold onto God and His promises. Hold onto the dreams He places in your heart. Dream and see it become a reality as you cooperate with God.
