Trust God and Rest
For we live by believing and not by seeing. II Corinthians 5:7 (New Living Translation, NLT)
We are to live our lives by faith and not by our physical sense, such as sight. If we see things that seem to contradict the Word of God, then faith tells us that what we see must bow to what God says. Those things that we see must conform to the Word of God. In other words, faith allows us to see beyond the natural circumstances to what God has for us.
As we put our faith and trust in God, those things that appear to be real, but come against God and His plans, will not phase us or cause us to worry. We can trust God and rest, knowing that He is taking care of things. So many people live by the philosophy that anything that is not seen is not real. Faith is the opposite. If we can’t see something, then it requires faith to know that it can and will be made visible. As we envision the object of our faith coming to pass, faith arises and the unseen becomes seen.
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Today, as we see and hear election results, there is no cause for concern. We have been praying and decreeing the victory of good over evil. We have been standing against the plans and schemes of the enemy. No matter how things appear to go, do not lose heart or think that the wicked have won. God has a plan that is going to surprise and amaze every one of us. Faith requires us to refuse to fear and to rest instead. Continue to stand in faith, but relax. God’s got this. It will be unprecedented and awesome how God pulls it all off, so trust Him and rest. God is faithful, and He won’t let us down.
