Use Trouble To Develop Strength
If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs 24:1 (New International Version, NIV)
Falter means to hesitate, slip, waver, halt, or fluctuate. The New Living Translation translates it as fail.
If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. Proverbs 24:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Earlier verses in this chapter speak of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. As we grow and operate in these, we become stronger, being strengthened from the inside to handle what goes on around us.
If we fail, it isn’t the end. Use it to begin again. Learn from it. Gain wisdom, knowledge, and patience so you’ll be ready next time to overcome. Use small trouble to strengthen you to handle bigger things down the road. Then, when bigger challenges come, they won’t overcome you, but you’ll overcome them. You’ll develop strength of character that will help you stay stable. You won’t be blown away when storms come.
Every time we overcome small troubles, we get stronger, wiser, more stable, and more prepared for the future. We’ll get to the point where troubles simply don’t trouble us anymore. Why? Because we’ver learned to keep our peace. Through the patience we’ve developed, we can outlast trouble.
Trouble will come and go, but when we’re anchored, rooted, and grounded in God and His Word, we can overcome anything we face. Just keep doing what God has put in your heart to do, and you will succeed.
