Release, Receive, Rejoice
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Romans 4:17-21 (KJV)
Faith is released based on God’s Word. Believe it, then speak it to release it. Then you’ll receive. Faith comes from what God says both in His written Word and what He says to us in His spoken Word. If it’s from God, both His written and spoken word will align.
Abram was promised by God to have descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand. He believed it so he released His faith by calling himself what God called him- Abraham, which means Father of Many Nations. He received the promise in His heart and stayed strong in his faith by rejoicing and giving God glory. Then, he saw the promise come to pass.
We release our faith in God based on who God is and what He says, believing God can and will do what He says. When we pray, we release faith and believe we receive (Mark 11:24)- so we rejoice by giving thanks and praise to God. Then we watch God perform what He has promised.
The Promiser promises and has the power to perform His promises. This makes us rejoice because we know we can trust Him to do what He says. Hear God’s Word, then release faith in God, and receive from God. Give God praise before, during, and after fulfilled promises. Let’s praise Him for who He is, what He gives, and what He will do.
We can think of it this way. Symbolically, we can release our faith with hands lifted to God. Then we receive with open hands extended to God. And we rejoice by waving our hands before God.
