Stepping On Ants
We all face giants; giants of unbelief, debt, sickness, difficult people, low self-esteem, and many more. I’m sure you can identify some giants you have faced or are currently facing.
And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Numbers 13:27-33 (KJV) emphasis mine
God had already promised the land of Canaan to the Israelites. No enemy could have defeated them because God was with them, and no one can defeat God.
When we face giants of any kind, we must not look at what we can’t do in our strength. Instead, we must look at God’s strength and power. Focus on God, not on problems. When we focus on God, problems get smaller. When we focus on the problems, they get bigger. It’s all a matter of focus and perspective. We can’t conquer giants while believing a negative report, no matter who brings the report. We must believe God and His Word over negative reports. Don’t let anyone talk you out of God’s promises and provision. Take hold of God’s power and use it by speaking and acting in faith. Trust God and His power, not man and his “wisdom,” which is foolishness compared to God’s wisdom. When all else fails, God prevails.
With God we are well able to defeat giants and take back everything the enemy has stolen. Fight until you see victory. Prevail until you possess all that’s been promised to you. Keep your focus right. The bigger you see God, the smaller the giants look. Notice that in the word giant, there is also the word ant. The biggest giant can become an ant when we look to God. No ant can defeat you. Step on that ant, move on, and take the land.
The way we see ourselves is the way we will be- we’ll act accordingly. Therefore, we must act in faith, courage, and confidence, knowing that because God is for us, no one of any consequence can be against us. No one can overcome God, so no one can overcome us. There are more with us than there are with the enemy, so they lose and we win.
See the enemy as the loser he is. Believe he is and has been beaten. Jesus already fought and won the war. See yourself victorious in Christ. March into enemy territory, and run them off of what is yours: healing, health, favor, peace, prosperity, blessing, etc. The way you see it is the way it will be. Agree with God and His Word and you’ll come out the winner every time.
