Enjoy Life
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (KJV)
Did you know that you can enjoy life- your life- not wishing you had someone else’s life? Enjoying life is a decision or an attitude- having the right frame of mind. When we were born-again, we received Jesus, who is life and joy. Jesus is really all we need. Jesus came to give us abundant life; not lack, problems, or trouble.
Jesus said that in the world we have trouble. However, He also said to cheer up and be joyful because He overcame the world. According to Nehemiah 8:10, joy from the Lord gives us inner strength. We can enjoy who God is and who God made us to be. We can enjoy our lives every day- not just some days. Thus, we really should have only good days because every day in Christ is a good day! The Lord makes every day for us to enjoy.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
I’m not saying that problems won’t come; because they will. Some days may even seem like more than we can handle. That’s when we look deeper, dig deeper, and remember who God is and what He says in His Word. Jesus said He gives joy in sorrow. Our sorrow will be turned into joy because Jesus is our joy. we can be joyful in Him no matter what goes on. Jesus is our peace, so we can remain calm and happy.
As we live life with Jesus and Jesus lives His life through us, there’s a supernatural power that helps us to enjoy our lives and make the most out of our circumstances. As we abide in God’s Word by reading, studying, and speaking it, as well as praying in the Spirit, we draw from God’s life. The result is abundant life- until it’s full and overflowing. And we’ll flow in the river of God’s Spirit of Life, receiving all Jesus died to provide.
Abundant life is found at the cross, in the blood of Jesus. It is based on God’s Word and works by God’s Spirit. Truly, this is the way God wants our lives to be- free, full, and furnished with all that God supplies and provides. Our lives should get better and better, brighter and brighter. We can enjoy life- the life God planned for each of us. Amen!
