God Will Give You Confirmation
Have you ever noticed something that keeps popping up over and over in your life? Maybe it’s a number you see repeatedly on signs, license plates, phone numbers, even on the alarm clock. Perhaps you notice a certain word or phrase keeps coming up. Do not discount such things as coincidence- it is usually God giving confirmation or guiding us in some way.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24 (New Living Translation, NLT)
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20 (KJV)
Whatever God tells or shows us to do, He will always give us a word from His Word to stand on or act on. Then, He will confirm it to us- often times through repetition. Let me give you a couple simple examples from my own life.
On April 1, 2016, the Lord led us to become partners with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, which is based in Fort Worth, Texas. Later, the Lord made it possible for us to move to Fort Worth to join the church located on the grounds of the Kenneth Copeland Ministries headquarters. Once we made arrangements to relocate, we arrived in Texas on April 1, 2018. I assume you see the pattern with the dates. Then, I recently watched a broadcast of a Joyce Meyer conference that was held in Texas. It was broadcast on- you guessed it- April 1, 2019. It seemed to me that God was shouting, “I put you in Texas!” While some people might see this as a silly coincidence that should just be ignored, I have learned to pay very close attention to such details, because God speaks to us in ways like this. I do not believe in coincidences- and neither does God.
The other day, I was reading a book in which the author was discussing time, specifically the Greek word kairos, which refers to opportune time. The same day, I came across the same word in Romans 5:6 in my own Bible study. I noticed the words due time, which in the Greek is kairos, or opportune time or season. This was no accidental thing- I knew the Lord was confirming to me about how He has been moving in my life according to His specific timing.
There are opportunities and seasons where He moves in our lives in such a way so as to position us where He wants us to be. He wants to confirm to us what He is doing and how He is moving in our lives. He does it in His Word and in His workings. He confirms with things such as open doors, signs, provision, and divine guidance. He works in our lives to line things up with His plan- and He confirms and establishes our steps along the way, often in subtle, quiet ways. It is up to us to recognize His quiet way of confirming things to us, similar to the way He spoke to the Prophet Elijah in a still, small voice.
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. I Kings 19:11-12 (KJV)
God will not leave us without guidance and confirmation. It is up to us to pay attention and recognize it in our daily lives.
