Make It A Health Day
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. III John 1:2 (KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
We all take off for special days like birthdays, anniversaties, holidays, etc. Why not take a day for yourself and make it a health day? Get some needed sleep and rest. Just relax, with no physical or mental work. Get away from emotional stress, no worry or fear. Take time to be at peace and at ease. Feed your spirit and mind on God’s Word. Do your favorite activies or try something new. Get some exercise. Enjoy yourself!
Take time to read, study, and meditate on God’s Word. Listen and hear what He will say to you. Let God’s presence and Spirit minister to your needs- whether you need love, joy, peace, health, strength, direction, assurance, wisdom, or whatever. Let the nearness of the Lord refresh you. As we wait in God’s presence, His Spirit will “life’ us and renew us. And let’s not forget prayer; exchange your cares for God’s care.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
I take regular health days. I go outside and get some sunshine. I do stretches and exercise. I do deep-breathing, I take a detox bath, I read the Word, pray, and spend time in worship. It helps me refocus and rebalance my life. It makes me more productive.
My point is, regularly take time to do something that will be good for you, that will help you and build you up. God wants our whole spirit, soul, and body healthy and whole- preserved blameless until Jesus comes for us (I Thessalonians 5:23).
Make it a health day. You’ll feel better, and your health will benefit. And if you make it a regular habit, you’ll be healthy in the long run.
