God Determines Who You Are
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 (New International Version, NIV)
Don’t let where you are determine who you are. You are who you are in Christ, not where you happen to be in the natural realm. Your identity is not dictated by your job, your home, your geographic location, your income, your ethnicity, or any other natural thing. You are who God says you are.
Child of God, your worth and value as a person do not come from what you have or don’t have or who you know. Instead, it is based on the fact that God has you and you have God. Don’t allow anything but God to determine what you can or should do in life. God is your source, not man. He will make you who He wants and needs you to be.
Each of us has an assignment in life, a God-given purpose and calling. Do what God wants you to do. God will bless you and give you what He wants you to have- which is usually more than you can imagine on your own. As we know and see God, we will know and see who He is and who He is in us.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version, NIV)
God is with you, God is for you. God will work in you, with you, through you, and for you to bring to pass His promises and purposes for your life. God determines who you are, and it is something awesome!
