God Has A Place For You

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. Psalm 74:4 (KJV)

In this verse, place refers to a dwelling or the concept of God’s presence.

He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Psalm 18:19 (KJV).

Place in this verse refers to an enlargement, an open space- usually in a good sense. Figuratively it means liberty, breadth, and a larger place. It indicates a spacious place, broadness, and wideness of the earth. Metaphorically, it depicts freedom, liberty, free from oppression and enemies. It is a blessed situation in life.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebrews 11:8 (KJV)

Place in this verse is the Greek word topos, which is where we get the term topographical map. It speaks of a real location, a spot, a home, Figuratively, it speaks of a condition or opportunity. God will put us in a place of opportunity where we can flourish, grow, and function.

I once received a prophetic word from a prominent leader in the body of Christ. He told me, “God has a place for you.” While that does not seem like a deep revelation, I knew it was deeper than it sounded. This was 25 or so years ago, and I have been waiting for God to reveal and unpack the meaning. As God leads me through Scripture, the meaning has become more clear to me- especially as I recently studied the word place for this post. We must wait and seek God to learn and apply a Word from God. it is a daily, progressive process.

Truly God has a place for each one of us- a God place, a good place. He’s taking us to a place where He is, so we can dwell in His presence. Out of that place flows all we need. Enlargement, growth, and good things from God are all found in that place. In this place we receive love, provision, wisdom, direction, and liberty. God always makes a place and room in His heart for us. In this place we access what God has for us. It is a blessed place, a happy place, a fulfilled place. It is a physical place and a spiritual place. Literally God has a place for us now in this life filled with all good things that He has provided for us in Christ. We are promised to dwell in a good place. Also, we can access a supernatural place in God that is reserved just for us. Holy Spirit leads us to that place as we cooperate with Him. And, on top of all this, Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven. Who knew there was so much to be discovered in the place He has for us?
